Description: i. AMERICAN MISSION IN LIVERPOOL AND LONDON. DR PAGE WITH DELEGATES WHO WILL TELL U.S. OF OUR WAR WORK. U.S. Ambassador W.H. Page and his group embark from ship in Liverpool. They talk with women workers in the street outside a factory. In London, they pose outside the vehicle entrance to the Palace of Westminster.ii. A ROYAL EXAMPLE. King George V inspects the base groundcrew drawn up on parade. He goes on to enter a hangar, making a point of handing over his matches as he does so. He looks inside the main cockpit of a Handley Page 0/400. Queen Mary can be seen with him, looking over the aircraft.iii. PERVYSE HEROINES TENDING WOUNDED IN BELGIUM. BARONESS DE T'SERCLAES AND MISS MAIRI CHISHOLM WERE GASSED DURING RECENT FIGHTING. The ladies are seen leaving on their motorcycle combination to give assistance to a wounded man on a stretcher, then sitting together at a table, talking.iv. OUR MEN ON THE BATTLEFIELD. GENERAL AND OFFICERS AND MEN TAKEN BY CAVALRY. An overturned 18-pounder field gun with the dead bodies of its horses and crew beside it. Soldiers, including a Lewis gunner in the foreground, holding a slit trench. Cavalry officers (dismounted) hold an open air briefing while German prisoners rest nearby.v. THE PEOPLE'S FOOD. MR CLYNES M.P. OPENS KITCHEN AT STOKE NEWINGTON. The film shows a crowd of cheering children. J R Clynes MP, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Food Control, arrives and performs the opening ceremony. The children, rather camera-shy, hold jugs of soup. A final shot of one child in close-up eating an apple.vi. MIDLAND MINERS JOINING UP. ENTHUSIASTIC RECRUITING SCENES AT BURSLEM. The men pose with the recruiting sergeants. They are the last conscripts from the reserved occupations such as mining. They march through the town streets. Small children march in step as they go, and a woman rushes out to kiss her husband goodbye.vii. A LULL IN THE BATTLE. THE HIGH UNYIELDING SPIRIT OF BRITON AND FRENCHMAN. British troops, some resting, hold a slit trench. Other soldiers rest, eating from cans. British and French soldiers, looking tired and strained, wait in a village. Two of the Frenchmen pick up their rifles and leave.
